It's not necessarily enough to warrant the £40 price difference, but if you want the best of the best and are happy to pay for it, then Assos wins out. The flagship Assos jersey is very similar in performance to the Castelli, doing all things pretty darn well, but in our experience has an ever-so-slightly more premium feel to the fabric and slightly easier-access pockets.
